Though the video was just posted, this Diane Ravitch lecture at Stanford University took place in 2013. I recommend it, and not just because the first words she says are “Thank you, David Cohen.” (I delivered the introduction for her, and you can see me briefly in silhouette, taking my seat as she begins her remarks). I think Diane is at her best in longer formats like her book and this lecture. In my opening remarks, I recognized that not everyone likes Diane’s style or message, but she certainly backs up her claims, and speaks to a set of challenges that demand attention.
